Mahindra Scorpio-N facelift launch by August 2026 JSW Motors to launch Jetour T2 PHEV by Diwali
The rugged SUV segment in India is set to get crowded and a lot more sophisticated. By Diwali 2026, the market will witness the arrival of two rugged SUVs, including an updated local legend and a high-tech international disruptor. While Mahindra will launch the Scorpio-N facelift, JSW Motors will introduce its first model based on the Jetour T2.

Expected to be launched around August 2026, the Mahindra Scorpio-N facelift will come with significant changes in terms of features. While the ladder-frame chassis and the 4x4 drivetrain will remain untouched, the cabin is getting a massive digital injection.
Panoramic Sunroof and 360-degree camera: the existing Scorpio-N gets a single-pane sunroof; however, the facelifted model will get a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. It is expected that the lower-spec variants will continue to offer a single-pane sunroof. The test mules have been equipped with cameras integrated into the ORVMs and the front grille, which confirms the addition of a high-definition 360-degree camera system. The SUV could also get a “blind-view monitor” that activates when you use the turn signals.
Twin 10.25-inch Digital Displays & Modern features: It will come with a revised dashboard layout, featuring a new 10.25-inch floating touchscreen with better interface and fast processing. The semi-analogue dials will be replaced by a new 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display that can show full-screen navigation and ADAS alerts. It is likely to get ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, and premium Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos for immersive sound experience.
No mechanical changes: it will continue to be offered with the existing 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engines. Transmission choices will include both manual and automatic units, while the higher trims will continue with the 4x4 system.

Likely to be launched by Diwali 2026, the Jetour T2 will be the first model from JSW Motors in the Indian market. It has a box-on-wheels design philosophy similar to the Land Rover Defender, but packed with a high-tech hybrid powertrain.
PHEV: While most of the rugged SUVs are powered by petrol and diesel engines, the Jetour T2 comes with an i-DM Plug-in Hybrid system. The PHEV is packed with a 156hp, 1.5L turbo petrol engine and a 26.7kWh battery. Its dual-motor AWD version offers a combined power and torque output of 381hp and 610Nm, respectively. Paired to a 3-speed DHT, the battery offers an NEDC-certified all-electric range of 139km. The SUV is claimed to offer a combined driving range of over 1000km.
Off-road tech: it uses a XWD intelligent system by BorgWarner, which automatically switches between 6 driving modes. The Jetour T2 is based on a monocoque platform, and offers 220mm ground clearance.
Key Details: Inside the cabin, the new Jetour T2 PHEV gets a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment unit powered by a Snapdragon 8155 chip. It is packed with 12-speaker Sony Sound System with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), ventilated and heated front seats, panoramic sunroof and LEVEL 2 ADAS suite.
