Tata to Launch 3 Cars by Diwali 2026 - Sierra EV to New Tiago EV

Tata Sierra EV and Safari EV launch by Diwali 2026 Tiago EV facelift to receive bigger battery pack

Tata Motors is planning to launch 3 new cars, including two SUVs and a facelifted Tiago EV in the country before Diwali 2026. The company will launch two new electric SUVs, including the much-anticipated Tata Sierra EV. Similarly, the long-awaited Tata Safari EV is also reportedly to be launched by October 2026. Moreover, the Tiago EV and Tiago facelifts have been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads.

Tata Sierra EV

Tata Sierra EV Front Design

The Sierra electric is the biggest launch for Tata Motors in 2026. It is built on the acti.ev platform, which also underpins the Curvv EV. This mid-size electric SUV is reportedly to be offered with a radical “Lounge” interior that pays homage to the 1991 original.

Competition - the Sierra EV will rival the likes of the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV and VinFast VF6.

Powertrain - the mid-sized electric SUV is expected to be offered with two battery choices, including a 55kWh and a 65kWh. The electric SUV is expected to offer a realistic range of around 450-500km on a single charge. It will be a front-wheel drive car, but the higher-spec model with 65kWh battery will come with a dual-motor AWD setup. The electric SUV with high ground clearance and multiple terrain modes along with AWD setup will give light off-road capabilities.

Key Details - the top-spec variant is expected to get a unique 4-seater “Lounge” configuration with massive rear legroom and a panoramic sunroof. In terms of features, the electric SUV will have triple-screen dashboard, powered front seats, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, all-4 disc brakes, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and LEVEL-2 ADAS.

Tata Safari EV

Safari EV Launch Diwali

Tata Motors will introduce the Safari EV as its new flagship SUV. It will be based on the same acti.ev+ platform that underpins the Harrier EV. Not just the platform, the Tata Safari EV will source its battery pack and electronic architecture with the Tata Harrier EV. It is likely to be offered in both 6-and 7-seater versions with a more versatile middle-row configuration.

Competition - the new Tata Safari EV will take on the likes of the Mahindra XEV 9S, Kia Carens Clavis EV, BYD eMax 7 and the newly launched VinFast VF MPV 7.

Performance and Range - It is expected to be offered with 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs with a rear-axle-mounted electric motor as standard. The 75kWh version will also get a dual-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) setup. This model is expected to offer 0-100kmph acceleration in around 8 seconds, along with multiple electronic terrain modes for light off-roading. We expect the new Safari EV to offer a real world range of over 450km on a single charge.

Tata Tiago EV Facelift

The Tiago EV is the brand’s most affordable electric offering in the Indian market. It will come with major upgrade before Diwali to stay ahead of the VinFast VF3 and Hyundai budget competitors. The hatchback will come with a redesigned front fascia, new alloy wheels and connected tail-light treatment. The cabin is likely to get a bigger touchscreen and a new digital driver’s display.

The new Tiago EV facelift is likely to get a new 30kWh LFP battery, replacing the current 25kWh unit. This electric hatch is expected to offer a range of around 325-350km, up from 293km in the older model. The entry-level variants likely to retain the 19.2kWh battery.
