MG India shares first teaser of the upcoming 2022 Gloster SUV; Launch scheduled for 31st August; Expected to come with minor cosmetic enhancements and updated ADAS technology
The flagship model of MG Motor’s line-up in India is soon set for an update. In a new teaser video released by the company, the car maker has teased the front end of the Gloster Facelift which is expected to get minor cosmetic updates. A few months back, we had covered the story of a heavily camouflaged test mule doing rounds on Indian roads. The teaser also hints at the introduction of some new first-in-segment features to the premium SUV.
As per the spy shots, the facelifted SUV will continue to retain its overall boxy stance while featuring minor changes to the front profile with a new set of LED headlamps, revised front grille and a tweaked bumper design. The new model is also expected to come with new design alloy wheels. While the teaser hardly gives any information about the four-wheeler, the carmaker has included easter eggs like ‘Explore More’ and ‘Advance Gloster’ which suggests that the SUV can get some good off-road equipment and Level 2 ADAS.
Other additions include a revised infotainment system, smartphone connectivity features, ventilated seats and power adjustment with memory function.
The existing powertrain options are expected to continue with the new model. The 2.0-litre single turbo unit puts out 161 bhp and 375 Nm of peak torque while the twin-turbo unit is good enough to produce 215 bhp and 480 Nm of peak torque. Both units come paired to a 8-speed automatic gearbox.
