New Baleno spied with revised design. The engine setup is likely to remain unchanged.
Launched in 2015, the Maruti Baleno hatchback has always been favoured for its practicality, efficiency and value-for-money proposition. The model received its first midlife update in 2019, followed by a generational upgrade in 2022. Now, the Baleno is set to undergo another lifecycle refresh this year, ahead of its full model change in 2027.
It appears that Maruti Suzuki has already started testing the 2026 Maruti Baleno facelift, with launch likely in the coming months.
Here're the first spy images of the updated Baleno. While the test mule is heavily camouflaged, the facelifted model is likely to receive subtle changes both inside and out. The new Maruti Baleno facelift is expected to feature a completely revised front fascia including a sleeker and wider grille, sportier bumper and redesigned headlamps. The side profile appears to be remain largely unchanged, expected the newly-designed alloy wheels.

The interior of the 2026 Maruti Baleno facelift is likely to get new trims and upholstery, while retaining the existing dashboard layout, and display setup. Official details are still under the wraps. However, the updated Baleno is expected to gain features such as a sunroof, ventilated front seats, a fully digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and more.
Under the hood, the new 2026 Maruti Baleno facelift is likely to retain the existing 1.2L naturally aspirated Dualject, Dual VVT petrol engine, producing power worth 90PS and 113Nm of torque. Transmission choices might also remain intact – i.e. a 5-sped manual and a 5-speed AMT.
The CNG version will also to continue. However, this time the hatchback might receive an underbody CNG tank similar to what is seen in the Maruti Victoris. The CNG version delivers a maximum power of 78PS and 99Nm of torque. Maruti claims that the Baleno offers a fuel efficiency of 223kmpl-22.9kmpl for the petrol variant and 30.6km/kg for the CNG version.
