Honda’s Next Hybrid SUV Coming Soon? More Affordable Than ZR-V

Honda Elevate facelift might debut with strong hybrid powertrain. The SUV is likely to get new features and updated styling.

Honda recently unveiled its first hybrid SUV for the Indian market – the ZR-V. Pre-bookings for the model are already underway, while delivers are scheduled to begin in July 2026. However, its official launch date is yet to be announced. The Honda ZR-V will arrive in India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) in limited numbers. The ZR-V will be Honda’s new flagship SUV, catering to a niche segment of buyers.

Honda Elevate Hybrid Coming Soon?

Aiming to target the mass-market hybrid segment, Honda Cars India is expected to introduce its second hybrid SUV by the end of 2026. While the carmaker hasn’t made any official comment on the same, the upcoming model is expected to be the Honda Elevate facelift. With its first midlife update, the Elevate is likely to receive a strong hybrid powertrain.

Hybrid Powertrain

The Honda Elevate hybrid could be offered with the City e:HEV’s 1.5L Atkinson cycle strong hybrid setup to challenge the Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the upcoming Renault Duster. In the City hybrid, this powertrain setup delivers power worth 126bhp and 253Nm of torque. Paired to an eCVT transmission, it returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 26.5kmpl. These figures could vary slightly for the Elevate hybrid.

More Features

The new 2026 Honda Elevate facelift might also receive a larger touchscreen infotainment system along with an updated instrument cluster. Honda could additionally offer a 360-degree camera and ventilated front seats. The ADAS suite is likely to be upgraded with new functionalities such as rear cross-traffic alert.

Subtle Design Changes

Only minimal cosmetic changes are expected. The new Honda Elevate 2026 facelift could feature the brand’s new design language, already seen on models such as the globally sold Honda Pilot, ZR-V and CR-V. Upfront, the SUV might get a revised blacked-out grille, redesigned bumpers and slimmer headlamps. Other styling highlights might include newly-designed alloy wheels, and connected taillamps.
