The electric version of the Hyundai Creta has been revealed and is set to become the most affordable all-electric offering from Korean automakers in India. The Creta EV will be a compact electric SUV for the segment with its regular Hyundai Creta design language. However, it will have features that distinguish it from the ICE version.
Let's have a look at the design, features, and battery pack of the upcoming Creta EV.
Front Profile
The Creta EV features a redesigned front fascia with a closed-off grille. It also gets an updated bumper design, including active air flaps that not only optimize airflow for battery cooling but also enhance the car's aerodynamic efficiency. It adapts the L-shaped connected LED DRLs and headlight housings from the regular Creta.
Side Profile
The electric version keeps the silhouette of the standard Creta with the same window line and silver skirting below doors. The roof and pillars have a finish in black, and the OVRMs also offer the same black shade. It has new 17-inch alloy wheels that are aerodynamically styled.
Rear Profile
The rear profile of the car looks exactly the same as its ICE version with designs such as the inverted L-shaped connected LED tail lights and rear bumper. Also, the bumper also features a silver skid plate.
The interior of the Creta EV has a dual-tone black and white cabin theme as the regular Creta. It is a C1-segment SUV with a seating capacity of up to 5 people.
The Creta Electric comes with the same dual-screen setup on the dashboard which is offered in its standard version. It gets a whole bunch of features like a panoramic sunroof, dual 10.25-inch screens, ADAS suite, V2L technology, a new centre console, rotary dial for drive modes, 360-degree camera, shift-by-wire technology, and a digital key.
The Creta EV offers two battery pack options that are 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. Each of the battery packs is paired with a single electric motor that powers the front wheel of the car.
Moreover, Creta Electric’s battery pack can be charged up from 10-80 percent in 58 minutes with a DC fast charger, and an 11 kW AC charger can charge the battery from 10 percent to full in 4 hours.
As the car offers two battery packs, the range will differ as per the battery. For 42 kWh which is a medium battery pack the claimed range for it is said to be around 390 km and for 51.4 kWh battery pack it claims 473 km, both on a single full charge.
The price is yet to be announced by Hyundai but it is expected that the starting would be from Rs 20 lakh at ex-showroom.
The Hyundai Creta EV has pulled the covers off the car it is still to be launched on 17 January and showcased for the first time at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo with more information on price and other specs.
