The wait is almost over! The Mahindra Thar 3-Door facelift is set for a September 2025 launch, making it one of the most exciting Mahindra new launches this year. Known as the go-to SUV for off-road lovers, the Thar now enters its next chapter with fresh styling, modern features, and the same rugged DNA that fans love.
If you are tracking the Mahindra new SUV lineup, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Mahindra Thar 3-door facelift:
The 2025 Mahindra Thar 3-Door facelift is expected to hit showrooms in the first week of September 2025, with bookings likely opening soon after. While Mahindra has not confirmed the delivery dates, it is expected that deliveries could begin in October 2025, following the company’s usual launch strategy.
The facelifted Thar 3-Door features an all-new front fascia inspired by the Thar Roxx. The SUV receives a redesigned front grille, a revised bumper, and LED headlamps with integrated C-shaped DRLs. The tail lights have a new pattern while keeping the familiar housing. New alloy wheels add to the refreshed look, giving the Thar a modern yet rugged appeal.
Inside, the facelifted Thar 3-Door gets a completely overhauled cabin layout. A free-standing 10.25-inch infotainment system is expected to feature Mahindra’s AdrenoX connected car technology with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The steering wheel is updated, similar to the Thar Roxx, Scorpio N, and XUV700. The centre console has been redesigned to accommodate a wireless charger, and an automatic climate control system could be added. A fully digital instrument cluster is also expected to be part of the updated interior package.
The 2025 Thar 3-Door facelift will continue with the familiar engine lineup, including the 1.5-litre turbo diesel, 2.2-litre mHawk diesel, and 2.0-litre mStallion petrol. Buyers can choose between RWD and 4WD configurations, ensuring versatility for both city commuting and off-road adventures.
Earlier this year, Mahindra discontinued the soft-top variants of the Thar, standardizing the hard-top roof across the lineup. It remains to be seen whether the facelifted Thar 3-Door will offer the soft-top option for buyers seeking an open-air driving experience.
