Mahindra XEV 7e will be the next born electric SUV from the indigenous automaker in India, which is slated to debut towards the end of this year. Ahead of its official unveiling, a couple of images of its production-ready version have been leaked on the web, revealing interesting design details. Here are five key details we know about this upcoming Mahindra electric SUV so far.
- The XEV 7e will be the electric version of the popular Mahindra XUV700 SUV, sharing several design elements with its ICE counterpart. However, this born-electric SUV will borrow some styling bits from the newly-launched XEV 9e including a blacked-out grille, L-shaped connected LED DRLs, split headlamps, aero-optimized alloy wheels and, new skid plates.
- The interior layout of the Mahindra XEV 7e will closely resemble that of the XUV700, while featuring some EV-specific elements. Looking at the leaked images, it’s clear that the SUV will come with the dual-tone Black and White interior theme and white seat upholstery. Furthermore, we know that the EV will have a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated ‘infinity’ logo.
- Compared to its ICE counterpart, the XEV 7e will offer more advanced features. Reports suggest that the triple screen displays, VisionX HUD, powered front seats with a memory function and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system could be carried forward rom the Mahindra XEV 9e.
- The safety kit of this new Mahindra electric SUV will consist of Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) along with the 7 airbags, a 360 degree camera, and tyre pressure monitoring system.
- Official figures of its battery, range and power are yet to be revealed. However, the upcoming Mahindra XEV 7e is expected to come with the two battery pack options – a 59kWh and a 79kWh – borrowed from the XEV 9e. The smaller battery returns a claimed range of 542km, while the larger one promises 656km on a single charge. The SUV will also have an option of AWD (all-wheel drive) system.
When it comes to pricing and positioning, the Mahindra XEV 7e will sit between the new BE 6 and XEV 9e. It’s expected to be priced aggressively against the upcoming Tata Safari EV, with an estimated starring price of around Rs 20.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
