Mahindra developing XUV 3XO hybrid for India Mahindra XUV 3XO Hybrid launch expected in 2026 It could also get a locally-developed strong hybrid engine
Mahindra is working on multiple new SUVs including the next-gen Bolero, XEV 7e, XUV700 facelift and a more advanced XUV 3XO. The Mahindra XUV 3XO has been one of the most popular SUVs in category, as it still commands a waiting period of up to 10 weeks in some cities. In order to meet the future demands, Mahindra is going to give two big updates to the XUV 3XO line-up.
We informed you earlier that Mahindra is preparing a hybrid engine, which is reportedly to be offered on the XUV 3XO. It will be the brand’s first hybrid SUV, which is expected to arrive in 2026. Details about the hybrid engine are not available at this point. However, Mahindra is likely to add the new hybrid system to its powerful 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.
The SUV won’t receive any significant design and interior changes, except for the “HYBRID” badging. Not just strong hybrid engines. Mahindra is also exploring range extender hybrids for the existing INGLO platform models, codenamed M130 and M330.
The homegrown automaker, Mahindra is reportedly working on the next-generation ADAS technology. The new ADAS tech has recently been spotted onboard the XUV 3XO, which was covered in thick cloth. Adding to it, the prototype was caught without its front and rear bumpers.
Media reports reveal that Mahindra and Bosch are coming together to democratize ADAS tech by developing India-specific systems and algorithms. The new advanced system will be developed keeping the Indian road conditions in mind. The locally developed ADAS tech will help the automaker to bring down the cost of this safety technology.
