It was speculated that Mahindra will launch the XUV700 facelift before the end of this year; that didn’t happen. The homegrown UV maker has prioritise electric vehicles, and announced to launch the much-awaited XEV 9S 7-seater electric SUV (XUV700 Electric). The new XEV 9S will be launched in the country on November 25, 2025.
It is expected that Mahindra will introduce the XUV700 facelift in the first quarter of 2026. The SUV has been caught testing numerous times on the Indian roads. Spy images confirm that the 3-row SUV will receive cosmetic design and interior changes along with a longer list of features.
Majority of the design changes will be made to the front fascia of the Mahindra XUV700. The front gets a revised grille and an updated bumper, and a new LED headlamp set-up with a redesigned C-shaped LED DRLs signature. The side profile appears largely identical to the existing model, except for the new alloy wheels. Other design changes include new rear bumper and an updated tail-lights.
Inside the cabin, the SUV will receive major changes. It will have an all-new dashboard layout, which will have similarities with the upcoming XEV 9S electric SUV. The electric SUV will have a triple screen dashboard comprising a central infotainment unit, an instrument panel and a co-occupant entertainment screen.
The new XUV700 facelift will have a longer list of features. Similar to the Mahindra XEV 9s, the electric SUV is likely to get Harman/Kardon speakers with Dolby Atmos and ADAS LEVEL 2+ system with self parking feature. The SUV will also get an auto dimming IRVM and a front parking sensor.
The 2025 Mahindra XUV700 facelift will continue to be offered with the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel. While the former is good for 197bhp and 380Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 182bhp and 450Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The diesel version will also get an AWD drivetrain.
