Maruti Suzuki has launched its first electric SUV, the Maruti e Vitara, in India. The new model comes with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan that lowers the upfront cost for buyers. Here is everything about the Maruti e Vitara price, variant, features, bookings, and more.

The biggest highlight of the launch is the Rs 3.99 per km battery subscription plan. Under this BaaS model, customers pay separately for battery usage instead of buying the battery outright.
The introductory price of the SUV starts at Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) under this scheme. The booking amount is Rs 21,000. This pricing applies to the 49kWh variant and is calculated based on an average daily driving of 60 km.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is built on the dedicated HEARTECT-e platform designed for electric vehicles. It is offered with two battery pack options - 49kWh and 61kWh.
The claimed range goes up to 543 km on a single charge for the 61kWh variant. The SUV uses a pure electric drivetrain with independent eAxles for power delivery.

In terms of features, the e Vitara gets tri-LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels and a modern design. Inside, it offers a dual-screen display setup and Level 2 ADAS safety features.
Maruti Suzuki is offering an 8-year battery warranty. The vehicle warranty can also be extended up to 8 years. Buyers will receive a complimentary home charger and installation. The company is also providing free charging for one year through its charging network.
With the Rs 3.99 per km battery plan and a claimed range of 543 km, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara marks the company’s entry into the growing electric SUV market in India.
