New Renault SUVs Incoming - Hybrid Duster, 7-Seater & Bridger

Renault preparing Duster Hybrid, 7-seater SUV, and Bridger for India Upcoming SUVs to offer petrol, hybrid, CNG, and EV options Renault aiming for stronger SUV presence by 2027

Renault is getting ready for a major comeback in the Indian SUV market with several new launches planned over the next two years. Earlier this year, the French carmaker announced an ambitious roadmap for India that includes 7 new models and 2 new platforms supporting petrol, hybrid, CNG, and electric powertrains.

As part of this strategy, Renault is preparing three important SUV launches for India - the Duster Hybrid, a 7-seater Duster-based SUV, and the all-new Renault Bridger.

These upcoming models are expected to play a key role in strengthening Renault’s presence across multiple SUV segments.

Renault Duster Hybrid Arriving Around Diwali 2026

The upcoming Renault Duster Hybrid is expected to become one of the company’s most important launches in India. Renault has already confirmed that the SUV will arrive around the Diwali festive season in 2026.

The hybrid SUV will feature a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with two electric motors and a 1.4kWh battery pack. One motor will work as a generator, while the second motor will help power the wheels.

The setup is expected to deliver a combined output of 160bhp and 172Nm, making it one of the more powerful hybrid SUVs in its category.

Renault is also expected to focus heavily on fuel efficiency and long driving range with this model.

7-Seater Duster-Based SUV Also in Development

Renault is also developing a 7-seater version of the Duster for India. The SUV is expected to take inspiration from the Dacia Bigster and borrow several styling elements from the Renault Boreal, which will be sold in multiple international markets.

The three-row SUV is expected to share its platform, features, and engine options with the standard Duster.

Dimensionally, it is likely to measure around 4,556 mm in length, offering more cabin space along with an additional row of seats for larger families. Renault may also introduce the SUV with a completely different nameplate in India.

The model will help the company enter the growing three-row SUV segment.

Renault Bridger to Target Compact SUV Buyers

Another important product in Renault’s future lineup is the upcoming Renault Bridger. The compact SUV is expected to launch in 2027 and will be based on the brand’s new RGMP platform.

One of the biggest highlights of the Bridger will be its multi-powertrain strategy. Renault plans to offer the SUV with petrol, CNG, hybrid, and electric options.

The petrol variants are expected to use new 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and turbo petrol engines. Renault is also likely to introduce an electric version with 35kWh and 55kWh battery pack options.

This broad range of powertrain choices could help Renault target different types of buyers in India.

Renault Focusing on Multi-Powertrain Future

Renault’s future India plans clearly show the company’s focus on SUVs and flexible powertrain options. Instead of depending on just one fuel type, the brand wants to offer multiple technologies including petrol, hybrid, CNG, and electric setups.

The company also aims to achieve €2 billion in annual exports from India by 2030, making India an important global manufacturing hub for Renault.
