Next-generation Creta Hybrid is expected to launch in 2027. Hyundai is also developing a new three-row hybrid SUV. Palisade Hybrid could arrive in India by 2028.
Hyundai appears to be preparing a major expansion of its hybrid SUV lineup in India. While Toyota and Maruti Suzuki currently dominate the mainstream hybrid space with models such as the Hyryder and Grand Vitara, Hyundai is reportedly working on several hybrid SUVs that could arrive over the next few years.
From a hybrid version of the popular Creta to an all-new three-row SUV and the flagship Palisade, the company seems ready to strengthen its position in the growing fuel-efficient SUV market.

The next-generation Creta is expected to play a key role in Hyundai's hybrid strategy. Internally known as SX3, the new SUV is likely to arrive in 2027 and could become Hyundai's first high-volume hybrid offering in India.
The Creta has already established itself as one of the country's best-selling SUVs, making it a strong candidate for electrification. Reports suggest the next-generation model will move to Hyundai's new K3 architecture and could be slightly larger than the current version.
Along with the hybrid powertrain, buyers can expect a more premium cabin, larger screens, upgraded materials, and additional connected car technologies. Existing petrol, turbo-petrol, and diesel engine options are also expected to continue.

Hyundai is also said to be developing a brand-new three-row SUV, codenamed Ni1i. Expected to arrive towards the end of 2027, this model will sit between the Alcazar and the discontinued Tucson in the company's lineup.
Unlike many seven-seater SUVs currently on sale, hybrid technology is expected to be a major highlight from the beginning. Reports indicate the SUV could use a modified 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor.
One of the key advantages of this setup could be its ability to run on electric power alone during low-speed driving conditions. This would be especially useful in city traffic, where fuel efficiency often drops due to constant stop-and-go driving.
At the top of Hyundai's future hybrid range could be the Palisade Hybrid. The full-size SUV is reportedly being evaluated for India and could arrive around 2028.
Already sold in international markets, the Palisade combines three-row practicality with premium features, advanced safety technologies, and a hybrid powertrain. If launched here, it would likely become Hyundai's most expensive SUV powered by an internal combustion engine.
