Hyundai to Launch Bayon crossover in 2026 It will rival the Maruti Suzuki Fronx The crossover will slot between Exter and Venue It could debut the new 1.2L turbo petrol engine New-gen Venue arriving on October 24, 2025
Hyundai is planning to launch two new sub-4 meter SUVs in the country in the next 1 year. The company is gearing up for the launch of the new-gen Venue compact SUV that has been spotted numerous times on the Indian roads. After this SUV, the Korean brand will introduce an all-new crossover to rival the Maruti Suzuki Fronx in 2026.
The new crossover will be based on the Hyundai Bayon on sale in select European markets. While the global model is above 4 meters in length, Hyundai will make certain changes to keep its length under 4 meters. Moreover, the Bayon crossover for India will receive design and interior changes.
The current Bayon’s front design resembles the Hyundai Verna, featuring an LED strip on the bonnet, split headlights, and uniquely styled lower bumper. It is expected that the new Hyundai Bayon will receive a different front fascia, which will be in-line with new-gen Hyundai’s face. The side profile appears like a jagged-up version of the i20 hatchback with higher ground clearance, sweeping shoulder line and a coupe-styled roofline.
The Hyundai Bayon crossover is likely to share features with the new Venue and Exter. It could get a connected screen for a large touchscreen infotainment unit and a digital driver’s display. Other key features could include ADAS, 8-speaker Bose sound system, four-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, automatic climate control and powered driver’s seat.
The new Bayon could receive a new 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol engine, which is currently under development. Other engine options could include a 1.2L NA petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol.

Scheduled to be launched on October 24, 2025, the next-gen Hyundai Venue will come with new design elements and all-new, feature-loaded interiors. The SUV will share styling cues from the global Hyundai SUVs including the Alcazar, Palisade and Creta. The cabin will witness majority of the changes, as it will have an all-new dashboard layout.
The new-gen Hyundai Venue will come with a curved screen for infotainment and driver’s display. The company retains the physical buttons for different operations, including AC and music. The new compact SUV will have front and rear parking sensors, panoramic sunroof, LEVEL 2 ADAS and front ventilated seats. It will continue to be offered with the existing powertrain choices, including a 1.2L NA petrol, a 1.5L turbo diesel and a 1.0L turbo petrol.
