The Czech automaker, Skoda is actively testing the new Kushaq and Slavia facelift on the Indian roads. These two models will be launched before the end of this financial year, by March 2026. The Skoda Kushaq facelift will arrive first in our market. Meanwhile, Skoda is also celebrating its 25th anniversary in India and is ready to introduce special editions of the Slavia, Kushaq and Kylaq.
The Skoda Kushaq has been one of the safest SUVs in India, as it received full 5-star safety rating by Global NCAP. The SUV is equipped with a comprehensive range of comfort and convenience features; however, it misses out on select features such as a panoramic sunroof. The outgoing model is available with a single-pane sunroof.
The latest spy images reveal that the Skoda Kushaq facelift will come with a panoramic sunroof. It is expected that the panoramic sunroof will be offered on the top-spec variants of the Kushaq, while the lower-spec models are likely to get a single-pane sunroof. Skoda could have offered ambient lighting around the sunroof to offer premium feel.
The Kushaq misses out on ADAS tech, which is available in most of its direct rivals, including the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate and Tata Curvv. The Kushaq facelift will be equipped with LEVEL 2 ADAS tech, which will further boost its safety. The ADAS features will include autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, auto high beam, and others.
The outgoing model comes with a wide range of safety features such as ESC, multi-collision braking, hill hold control, electronic differential clock, traction control system, brake disc wiping and roll over protection, and motor slip regulation, six airbags, auto dimming IRVM and a TPMS.
The Skoda Kushaq facelift will come with cosmetic design changes in the form of revised front grille, updated headlamp set-up, new alloy wheels, and revised tail-lights, and new rear bumper. Inside the cabin, the updated Kushaq is likely to get new features, a revised central display, new upholstery and new interior scheme.
The Skoda Kushaq facelift won’t receive any mechanical upgrades. It will continue to be offered with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol engines. The 1.0L turbo unit is capable of producing 114bhp and 178Nm of torque, and is paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The 1.5L TSI engine comes with active cylinder technology and is available with a single 7-speed DSG unit. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 148bhp and a peak torque of 250Nm.
