Japanese automaker, Honda is preparing to launch 2 new SUVs in the Indian market in 2026 and 2027.  The company will launch an all-new electric vehicle in early 2026. It was reportedly to be a new electric SUV based on the Elevate, However, the new model will be an all-new battery electric vehicle (BEV).

The second Honda SUV will be a 7-seater model, which is likely to arrive in the market in 2027. This 3-row SUV will be based on the brand new platform, codenamed PF2. It will be a direct rival to the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari and others in the category. The new PF2 will be a versatile architecture and will be compatible with multiple body styles and different powertrains.

The new 7-seater Honda SUV will be a global model and will be slotted between the Elevate and CR-V. This model will be offered with both petrol and petrol-hybrid engines. It will get the tried & tested 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 119bhp and 145NM of torque.

Honda will use the new-gen e:HEV hybrid engine to power the new 7-seater SUV. It is most likely to be the upgraded version of the Atkinson Cycle 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that is paired to two electric motors. The first motor acts as an electric generator and the other will work as propulsion. The maximum power output and torque stand at 126hp and 253Nm, respectively.

Talking about the new Honda BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle), the new model will be an all-new model, designed and developed keeping the Indian market in mind. It is most likely to be an electric SUV, which will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6 and MG ZS EV. Honda will also set-up a charging infrastructure before introducing the new electric vehicle in our market.
