With the popularity and rising demand for hybrid vehicles, there are two popular cars that are speculated to get hybrid engines. These popular are from the brands Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki, which are vastly liked in the Indian market. Let's look at models by the brands that are expected to get a new hybrid powertrain.
The XUV 3XO Hybrid is said to be under development with the project named "S226". The company is also reportedly working on BE 6 and XEV 9e range extenders. As for the launch of this hybrid, there is speculation of that happening by the year 2026.
The hybrid version of XUV 3XO is expected to have the same dimensions and interior layout as the current ICE version.
For the powertrain of the car, it is likely to feature a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine (producing 129 bhp and 230 Nm of torque) paired with strong hybrid tech.
Through many reports online, it is claimed that Maruti Suzuki is developing a strong hybrid powertrain. The new powertrain is likely to debut with the Fronx facelift.
The Fronx facelift has been spotted testing with a hybrid unit under its bonnet. The model is said to look just like a regular Fronx until you see the 'Hybrid' badge on the left side of the boot lid.
It is expected that this new Maruti Fronx hybrid will be capable of returning fuel efficiency of over 30 km.
