We informed you earlier that Hyundai is preparing the next-generation Creta, which is expected to be revealed in the second half of 2026. The next-gen Hyundai Creta 2027 has been spotted testing for the first time in South Korea, revealing some key information. For people not in the know, the third-gen Creta will share its underpinnings with the new Kia Seltos that has recently been launched in the Indian market.

The spotted model is fully covered in thick cloth, but the overall silhouette and size suggests the new-gen Creta SUV. The SUV appears slightly longer and boxier than the outgoing model. It has a more upright and squared-off stance with prominent body cladding. The SUV is expected to carry a completely redesigned front and rear design.
The new Creta will have a sharper fascia, featuring a new Hyundai grille, and newly designed LED headlamps with DRLs along with an all-new lower bumper. Following the current trends, we expect the lower body cladding will have a gloss black finish. The rear hides behind the heavy camouflage, but the overall stance suggests that the rear will be completely different with modern lighting and an aggressive lower bumper. The SUV rides on newly designed 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, suggesting that the spotted model is a top-end variant.

The 2027 Hyundai Creta will be based on the new K3 platform that underpins the new-gen Kia Seltos. This platform is claimed to be stronger, and the new Creta and Seltos are expected to secure 5-star crash test safety ratings from GNCAP and BNCAP. It will have six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, traction control, rear parking sensors, reversing camera, 3-point seatbelt for all passengers, and others as standard. The higher variants will have LEVEL 2 ADAS, front parking sensors, 360-degree surround view camera, in-built dash cam and others.
The cabin will have major changes, as it will be a significant step forward in terms of premium and quality of materials used. It will have a new dashboard layout with connected screens, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, ventilated and powered front seats, adjustable headrests, auto-dimming IRVM, powered ORVMs and others.
The new model will ride on a longer wheelbase, similar to the new Seltos. We expect the new Creta to offer more space inside the cabin, and the second-row is expected to offer enough space to accommodate 3 adults.

The next-gen Hyundai Creta will come with a hybrid powertrain along with the existing ICE powertrain options. The new Seltos will also get the same powertrain, but Hyundai is aiming to maximise its first-mover advantage within the Korean duo. The strong hybrid engine is likely to be based on the 1.5L, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine.
The other engine choices will include a 115hp, 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol, a 160hp, 1.5L turbo petrol and a 116hp, 1.5L diesel. This wide range of choices ensures that buyers can select a Creta variant that fits their driving needs and budget. All three powertrains will come with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
The third-gen Creta is most likely to debut in the end of 2026 with possible India launch in the last quarter of 2026 or in the first quarter of 2027. It will rival the likes of the Kia Seltos, Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder and others.
