Renault has recently introduced the refreshed versions of the Triber MPV and the Kiger sub-4 meter SUV in the Indian market. In order to further boos sales, Renault will launch the Kwid facelift in the coming months. Moreover, the third-generation Renault Duster will go on sale in the first quarter of 2026, most probably in January.
It is reported that the new Renault Duster production in India will begin sometime in September 2025 at the brand’s Chennai based manufacturing facility. The French automaker could reveal the India-spec model before the end of this year, while price announcement could take place in January 2026.
The third-gen Duster is based on the brand’s new CMF-B modular platform, which will also underpin a new 7-seater Boreal and Nissan’s C-segment SUV. The SUV will first come in petrol avatar only, but a hybrid version will join the line-up at a later stage.
It is likely to be powered by a 151bhp, 1.3L turbo petrol engine paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The lower-spec model could either receive a 1.5L NA petrol or a 1.0L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. Similar to the Triber and Kiger, Renault could offer a CNG option at a dealer-level.

With higher level of localisation, Renault would aim to price the new Duster competitively in the market. We expect the SUV to cost somewhere between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 17 lakh, ex-showroom. It will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and others in the category.
Renault India has officially announced that the Kwid will receive a facelift, but details of the changes are yet to be revealed. We believe that the small car will share the features and changes with the new Triber and Kiger. The small car is likely to come with cosmetic design and interior changes along with a longer list of features.
The small car will continue to be offered with a 67bhp, 1.0L 3-cylinder petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox choices. The small car also gets a CNG option.
