C3 Aircross to compete in crowded mid-size SUV segment To be offered with petrol powertrain only Slated to be revealed on 27th April 2023
Citroen is gearing up to introduce its new mid-size SUV on the 27th of April 2023. Now, ahead of its global debut later this month, the automaker has released a new teaser, confirming that it will be named the C3 Aircross. It will go on sale in India first, followed by other global markets. We take a closer look.
The Citroen C3 Aircross is basically the SUV version of the C3 hatchback. In terms of design the teaser image showcases a close shot of the front end. Key elements like
split-headlights, slim front grille, and the wraparound tail lights are going to be the contributing factors to its upright stance and boxy proportions. The vehicle is expected to be made available in both 5 and seat configurations.
On the inside, like the exterior the four-wheeler will share quite a few components with that of the hatchback such as the steering wheel and some of the switchgear. Rest the interior layout will be totally new. Equipment expected to come with the SUV will include a bigger infotainment system, full digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto support, auto climate control, AC vents for all three rows, a sunroof, and more.
The C3 Aircross is expected to be offered with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that is also used by the C3 hatchback. The motor in the hatchback currently delivers a maximum power output of
110 bhp with 190 Nm of peak torque. We believe that the French automaker may retune the powerplant to make it more performance driven given the size and weight of the vehicle. Transmission options here will include a manual and an automatic gearbox. Rumors also suggest that the brand may introduce an All-Electric C3 Aircross sometime in the future.
