Honda Car India is preparing to launch its facelifted version of City on the 2nd of March 2023. Ahead of its launch, some clear images have appeared online. As per these images, the New 2023 Honda City features subtle changes to make the car more desirable. The interesting part is that the model will get updated engines to meet the new emission norms. The prices of the upgraded City will be announced during its launch in the month of March.
As seen in these images, the New Honda City has retained its classic looks. It highlights a revised bumper and a slim chrome bar for the grille. In addition, the grille is flanked by headlamps that are sharply styled with nine LED arrays. While the top-spec variant gets a grill with a honeycomb pattern, the lower trims will provide vertical slats. The side profile of the facelifted City seems identical to the current model. Towards the rear, the car features new bumpers as well as re-positioned reflectors. The leaked images also reveal that the 2023 Honda City Facelift will get a new blue shade which makes it look more stylish.
The interior of the facelift model seems quite similar to the existing model. Though it will get some new features added; ventilated seats and a wireless charger to name a few. Besides, the New Honda City is likely to get an updated touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity.
2023 Honda City Facelift will not offer a 1.5-litre diesel engine option as it will not be upgraded to meet the Real Driving Emissions (RDE) norms. To comply with the upcoming RDE norms along with the E20, the sedan will only be offered in petrol and petrol hybrid options. The 1.5-litre petrol is said to deliver a power output of 120 bhp, paired to a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. While the strong 1.5-litre petrol hybrid engine option would be capable of producing 124 bhp power clubbed to an e-CVT transmission.
The existing Honda City is available in nine variants that are priced from Rs 11.87 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs. 15.62 lakh (ex-showroom). While its hybrid option retails at Rs 19.89 lakh (ex-showroom). In comparison to these prices, the 2023 Honda City Facelift would command a premium primarily because of an updated powertrain to be able to meet new emission norms.
Talking about its rivals, the facelifted model will continue to compete with the likes of Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in its segment.
