Hyundai India has revealed key information about the Creta electric SUV, which will be launched at the Auto Expo on January 17, 2025. The new electric variant of Creta will come in four variants. Online booking for the all-new Creta Electric has started with a token amount of Rs 25,000. This electric SUV will compete with others in the market like Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6 and MG ZS EV. The Creta Electric will feature a range of features and safety equipment, and the price is expected to be in the range of Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 17 lakh (ex-showroom).
The interior of the Creta Electric is the same as the petrol and diesel versions but with slight changes. The car has twin 10.25-inch infotainment and driver's information screens. A new steering wheel and a drive mode selector, along with cup holders and electronic parking brake controls in the centre console, complete this setup. Other features include dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, vehicle to load charging capabilities, Hyundai's Bulelink in-car connectivity tech, ventilated front seats, and an 8-speaker Bose sound system. The Creta Electric will also offer payment in-car charging and a digital key to unlock and lock the vehicle using a smartphone.
The electric version of Creta features lots of safety components. These include six airbags, a 360 camera, electronic stability control, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. However, Level -2 ADAS consisting of lane departure warning, warning for forward collisions, and advanced smart cruise is also featured within the vehicle along with hill begin assist, descent control, and electronic parking with auto hold brake.
The Creta Electric will come with two variants of the battery: 42kWh and 51.4kWh. The range that the 42kWh battery can deliver will be 390 km, while this SUV shall achieve a range of 473 km using the 51.4kWh. The 42kWh will have 133.15 bhp power, and the 51.4kWh will have 168.66 bhp power. The battery could also be fast-charged, according to Hyundai, from 10% to 80% in 58 minutes if supported with a DC charger. With an 11kW home charger, it will take about four hours to charge from 10% to 100%.
