The Hyundai Creta facelift was spotted testing in South Korea a couple of months ago. Now, the upcoming SUV was spotted testing in India for the first time. The upcoming Creta will have a different exterior design along with a tech loaded interior.
While the new Creta sold overseas has a design similar to the Tucson, the India-spec model’s styling is more in-line with the larger Palisade SUV which is also expected to make its way to India.
The test mule spotted was clad in heavy camouflage, but we did notice the vertical split LED headlight and DRL. The new grille will get cube-like elements that match the one on the Palisade SUV. Hyundai may also give the facelifted Creta a full-width LED light bar like the new Verna.
Moving to the side, the test mule was riding on larger 18-inch alloy wheels while the wing mirrors had cameras mounted on them. According to rumors the new Creta could finally get the 360-degree camera that is present on its sibling KIA Seltos. At the rear, the compact SUV will get a new boot lid, redesigned LED tail lights, new LED light bar, and a tweaked bumper.
Hyundai is expected to offer the Creta facelift with the same 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine as the current model. The SUV could also be offered with a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor that debuted on the new Verna. Both manual and automatic transmission options will be available at launch.
According to the latest reports, Hyundai will likely introduce the Creta facelift in India around February-March 2024. Upon launch, it will compete against the likes of the new Honda Elevate, Škoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Maruti Grand Vitara, MG Hector, and the facelifted Kia Seltos.
