The fourth-generation Maruti Dzire recently went on sale in India, with prices starting from Rs 6.79 lakh for the base variant and going up to Rs 10.14 lakh for the fully-loaded top variant. Buyers have nine variants to choose from, spread across four trims – LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+. So if you’re in the market for the new Maruti Dzire and wondering which variant to go for, worry not! Let's begin with the specifications. Powering the all-new Dzire is the Swift’s 1.2L, 3-cylinder Z12E petrol engine, equipped with an idle start/stop system. The motor delivers a claimed power of 82bhp and 112Nm of torque. The compact sedan is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The Dzire CNG variant produces 69.7bhp and 101.8Nm. Maruti Suzuki claims that the new Dzire manual and AMT variants offer fuel efficiency of 24.79 km/l and 25.71 km/l, respectively, while the CNG version promises 33 km/kg.

Verdict: Right from the base variant, the Dzire offers most essential features. It’s a good option for those on a tight budget, without compromising on safety. The sedan’s entry-level variant recently underwent the Global NCAP crash test and achieved a 5-star rating for adult occupant protection and a 4-star rating for child occupant protection.
