Renault has been testing the new Duster 4X4 in the international market and has been spotted again. This time, the SUV is seen with an electric rear axle, hinting at an electric model. The brand has also been working on an LPG 4X4 version of Duster.

The prototype of the 2025 Duster was seen in the broad daylight with an electric motor mounted on the rear axle. The e-4WD setup for the SUV has been developed in collaboration with a French automotive supplier, Valeo. Apart from this model, the Jeep Avenger 4xe can be seen with a similar system setup.
The current powertrain of the SUV delivers 132 bhp and is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. It is expected that the brand will use a 1.2-liter turbo petrol 48V mild hybrid engine. The official range and output are yet to be revealed. However, the rear axle motor is likely to only come into use for low-grip situations or for off-road mode which is available with Duster sold globally.
Internationally, the new e-4WD is anticipated to enter dealerships in the second quarter of 2026. However, the dates are yet to be announced so it could come by the end of this year. As for the launch of the 3rd-gen Duster in India, it is scheduled to debut in 2026 with expected production commencing in September.
