Hyundai will introduce the new generation Creta in India by late 2027. The making of the new generation model is already on the go and is referred to under the codename SX3. Since the year 2015, Creta has been doing very good in India, and Hyundai has been refreshing it now and again. The last refresh was in the form of the facelifted version of the second-gen Creta, which happened last year. Even when it just had a facelift, Hyundai has now started gearing up against the all-new model which is set to bring a complete overhaul in design, features, and technology.
There is not much known about the features of the third-generation Creta yet, but some updates are on the cards. The new model will bring changes in design and comfort. Hyundai is going to redesign the interior, incorporating more features such as more technology, more infotainment, and more safety features. The intention is to make the new Creta more appealing in the very competitive midsize SUV segment. Hyundai is even planning to enhance the driving experience. The new Creta can have an enhanced suspension, enhanced steering, and less noise inside the car to offer a smoother experience to the passengers.
Other than the upgrade, the third generation Creta will have the same engine options as the present model, which are a petrol engine with 115 bhp, a turbo-petrol engine with 160 bhp, and a diesel engine with 116 bhp, all of which are in 1.5-litre form. The drop-down options include manual and automatic transmission, so the customer can pick depending on their needs.
The company did not state it in its official mandates, but there is a favorable chance that a hybrid option is a part of the new Creta. It may be a petrolelectric hybrid, better for fuel economy and having fewer tail emissions. If this proceeds, it will be the first hybrid model for Hyundai in India, which provides a big push for greener cars. Increasingly, hybrid Creta will give buyers an option besides the petrol and diesel options. It will differentiate the Creta in the already congested midsize SUV segment.
The new-generation Creta will be manufactured at the Tamil Nadu plant in India. The plant has served Hyundai well over the years and has produced some of its top models, including the Creta. Undoubtedly, it will yet again be a top contributor towards the production of the new Creta.
Knowing that the Creta is one of the most favoured models from Hyundai in India, the company will ensure higher production running along with the soaring higher demand for this SUV. The new Creta production will grant Hyundai the first movement advantage over the competition in the mundane midsize SUV market, which is still widely appreciated among Indian consumers.
An interesting option for the next-gen Creta will be a strong hybrid engine. This will be an opportunity for Hyundai to introduce its first hybrid in India. The hybrid power plant in question will consist of a 1. 5-litre petrol with an electric motor giving better fuel efficiency and lesser emissions. Most likely it will take place after the introduction of the Hyundai Ni1i, a new midsize SUV that will be placed between the Alcazar and Tucson.
Hyundai Creta generation three is expected to launch in 2027, with updates in technology, engine, and design. It can be launched with a hybrid powertrain, providing a cleaner and more efficient variant of the best-selling SUV. With the automobile sector heading towards electric and hybrid cars, the new-gen Creta will provide a range of options for various tastes, from conventional petrol and diesel engines to cleaner options. The 2027 variant will be an integral part of Hyundai's strategy to provide cleaner options in India, a key milestone in the company's progress.
