The Curvv is currently available within the price range of Rs 17.49 lakh and Rs 21.99 lakh. The Creta Electric will go on sale on 17th January. Maruti’s first EV – e Vitara – will hit showrooms in March, 2025. Mahindra BE 6’s full price list will be revealed at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. Citroen Basalt EV is expected to arrive in the second half of 2025.
Aiming to further strengthen its EV market, Tata Motors introduced the Curvv EV as its fifth electric offering in August 2024. This electric coupe SUV, priced between ₹ 17.49 lakh and ₹ 21.99 lakh, directly competes with the MG ZS EV. In 2025, however, it will face four new rivals from Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra, and Citroen. Let’s take a closer look at the key details of the upcoming Tata Curvv EV rival SUVs:
India’s largest passenger vehicle maker, Maruti Suzuki, is set to enter the electric vehicle (EV) space early this year with the e Vitara. This midsize electric SUV will debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, with its market launch scheduled for March. Based on the Heartect-e skateboard EV platform, the Maruti e Vitara will offer two battery options: a 49kWh battery and a 61kWh battery. Both versions will come with a single electric motor as standard, while the dual-motor AWD AllGrip-e system will be exclusive to the 61kWh variant. Maruti Suzuki has not yet disclosed the EV’s range figures.
The Hyundai Creta Electric is set to hit showrooms on 17th January, with its official price announcement at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. The EV will feature two battery options: a 42kWh battery with an ARAI-claimed range of 390 km and a 51.4kWh battery offering 473 km. Hyundai claims the long-range variant, with its 51.4kWh battery, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds. The Creta Electric offers three drive modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport, along with i-Pedal technology. Its battery can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in 58 minutes using a DC charger or from 10 percent to 100 percent in 4 hours with an 11kW AC wall-box charger.
The entry-level Pack 1 variant of the Mahindra BE 6 electric SUV has been launched at an introductory price of ₹ 18.90 lakh. Pricing for the remaining variants will be announced at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, where the model will also be displayed. Mahindra has confirmed that the BE.6, its first born-electric SUV, will be available with two battery options: a 59kWh battery producing 228bhp and a 79kWh battery generating 281bhp, both with an RWD setup. The higher-spec variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The BE 6 features three driving modes—Range, Everyday, and Race—along with a Boost mode that provides 10 seconds of maximum torque. The 59kWh and 79kWh batteries offer ARAI-claimed ranges of 556 km and 682 km, respectively. The EV supports both DC fast charging and regular AC charging.
Citroen plans to introduce its second mass-market electric offering this year: the electric iteration of the Citroen Basalt coupe SUV. The model is expected to share its powertrain with the C3 hatchback, which is equipped with a 29.2kWh battery pack and a 57bhp electric motor. Citroen may also offer the Basalt EV with a larger battery and a more efficient motor setup. Some EV-specific design changes are anticipated, both inside and outside the vehicle, to differentiate it from its ICE counterpart.
