Tata Sierra EV, Safari EV, and Avinya Fastback all set for 2026 launches Sierra EV and Safari EV to offer advanced features and 7-seater layouts Avinya fastback marks Tata’s entry into the luxury electric car segment
Tata Motors ended FY26 with strong sales across both ICE and electric segments. Popular models like Nexon and Punch continue to perform well, while the all-new Sierra has already secured over 11% share in the 4.2m-4.5m SUV segment.
In its recent Q4 earnings call, Tata Motors shared plans for major launches in 2026, focusing on expanding its EV lineup, updating popular models, and boosting production to meet growing demand.
The Tata Sierra EV is confirmed for launch in the second half of FY26-27. It will play a key role in strengthening Tata’s position in the EV market, where the company currently holds a 40.2% share.
The Sierra EV has already been seen testing on Indian roads. Expect EV-specific styling, including a closed-off body-coloured grille, refreshed lighting elements, redesigned bumpers, and exclusive colour options.
It could also offer advanced EV features like Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging. While technical specifications are yet to be announced, standard variants may come with FWD or RWD, while AWD with dual motors could be optional.

Tata is also planning the launch of the Safari EV later in 2026. This will be the company’s first 7-seater electric SUV, aimed at competing with rivals like the Mahindra XEV 9S.
The Safari EV is likely to borrow battery packs from the Harrier EV, with higher variants potentially featuring a dual-motor AWD system. The SUV is expected to retain Tata’s premium SUV feel, with spacious three-row seating and modern cabin technology.
The Avinya fastback will mark Tata’s entry into the luxury electric car segment. Built on Jaguar Land Rover’s EMA (Electrified Modular Architecture) platform, it combines a premium look with practical usability.
Avinya is expected to target buyers looking for a stylish, high-tech, and electrified premium vehicle, expanding Tata’s EV portfolio beyond standard SUVs.
Alongside these new EV launches, Tata Motors is expected to release facelifted versions of the Tiago/EV and Tigor/EV this year. These updates will help keep Tata’s compact EV and ICE models competitive in their respective segments.
To handle rising demand, Tata is planning to increase production in the coming months. While average waiting periods for Tata cars currently range between 4-8 weeks, models like the Sierra EV may have longer waiting times initially.
The company is working to ramp up Sierra production to 10,000 units per month or higher, ensuring customers can access its new EV offerings without long delays.
