Two Sedans, Two SUVs Coming Soon From Skoda and VW

Skoda Kodiaq RS launch expected later this month. Slavia and Virtus facelifts are also on the way. Volkswagen's new compact SUV could arrive in 2027.

Skoda and Volkswagen are preparing to launch four new models in India over the next year. The lineup will include two SUVs and two sedans, covering a range of segments. From the performance-focused Kodiaq RS to updated versions of the Slavia and Virtus, the brands are set to refresh and expand their offerings.

1. Skoda Kodiaq RS

The first major launch is the Skoda Kodiaq RS, expected later this month. It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 216 hp and 400 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system.

The Kodiaq RS will likely be imported as a fully built unit and will sit above the regular Kodiaq in the lineup. The SUV focuses on performance while retaining family-friendly SUV practicality.

2. Skoda Slavia Facelift

Skoda is also preparing a facelifted version of the Slavia sedan. The update is expected to include a refreshed front grille, full-LED headlamps and tail lamps, redesigned bumpers, and new alloy wheels.

Inside, the sedan could get a larger digital instrument cluster and an upgraded air-conditioning system. The optional 6-speed automatic gearbox may be replaced with an 8-speed unit in certain variants, slightly improving efficiency.

3. Volkswagen Virtus Facelift

Shortly after the Slavia facelift, Volkswagen is expected to launch the updated Virtus.

The facelift may feature redesigned bumpers, new alloy wheels, and updated lighting, including a potential front light bar. The cabin is expected to receive a larger digital driver display, improved AC performance, and some added comfort features.

4. Volkswagen Compact SUV

Volkswagen is also working on a new compact SUV for India, expected in 2027. It will use the MQB A0 IN platform, shared with Skoda’s Kylaq.

Power is likely to come from a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 114 hp and 178 Nm of torque, paired with either a manual or automatic gearbox. The SUV is expected to have a sportier design than its Skoda counterpart while sharing most mechanical components.
