Tata Tigor EV facelift to retain existing 26kWh electric powertrain. Tata Safari EV to share Harrier EV’s battery, drivetrain options.
The much-awaited Tata Sierra EV is now on sale in India. The homegrown automaker aims to further expand its EV portfolio with two new model launches by the end of this year – the Tigor EV facelift and the Safari EV. Here’s a closer look at the key details of these upcoming Tata electric vehicles.
Leaked patent images of the new Tata Tigor facelift suggest that it will feature a new closed-off grille, Tiago-inspired LED headlamps and updated bumper with a larger air dam at the front fascia. The sedan will also get newly-designed alloy wheels and new LED taillamps connected by a black trim. Similar design changes are expected for the new 2026 Tata Tigor EV facelift. Inside, the updated electric sedan might offer a larger touchscreen infotainment system along with a few new features.
The new Tata Tigor facelift is likely to retain the existing powertrain options. The electric sedan lineup is currently available with a 26kWh liquied-cooled battery pack paired with a permanent magnet synchronous motor. Its combined output stand at 73.7bhp and 170Nm. The Tigor EV comes with a single-speed automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive (FWD) system. It offers a claimed ARAI-certified range of 315km per full charge.

The Tata Safari EV is slated to launch during the 2026 Diwali festive season. The latest spy shots suggest that the electric SUV might feature an independent multi-link rear suspension, similar to the Harrier EV. Based on the Acti.ev+ platform, the Safari EV is expected to share its battery and drivetrain options with the Harrier EV. The Tata Harrier EV is currently available with three powertrain configurations - 65kWh single-motor RWD, 75kWh single-motor RWD and 75kWh dual-motor AWD.
On the exterior, the Tata Safari EV will feature a closed-off grille, redesigned bumpers, new alloy wheels and EV-specific badges. Inside, the electric SUV is expected to get TiDAL (Tata Intelligent Digital Architecture Layer), which enables features such as auto park assist, OTA (over-the-air) updates, summon mode, UPI-based in-car payment services, low-speed cruise control and a 540-degree surround view camera.
