Brezza facelift to get underbody CNG tank A six-speed manual gearbox to replace 5-speed unit Likely to get a 1.0L turbo petrol engine
Maruti Suzuki is getting aggressive with its product strategy for the Indian market. The company is aiming to increase its SUV market share, which is currently at 19.6 percent (FY26). In order to further boost sales, MSIL is planning to introduce seven new SUV models over the next 4-5 years. After introducing the Victoris and e Vitara, the country’s largest carmaker is ready to launch the Brezza facelift that has been caught testing multiple times.
The 2026 Maruti Brezza facelift will come with cosmetic design and interior changes along with a longer list of features. Moreover, the SUV will receive newer engine-gearbox combinations. Based on the spy images, we have listed down top changes expected in the Brezza facelift -
The Brezza facelift is reportedly to get a new 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that powers the Fronx crossover. This engine is paired to either a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The Brezza facelift could carry an aggressive price tag. As per the latest GST rates, petrol & petrol hybrid, LPG and CNG cars with up to 1200cc engine and 4000mm length will have straight 18% GST rates. In the current form, the Brezza gets a 1500cc engine and attracts 28 percent GST. The 1.0L engine will help Maruti Brezza to attract lowered GST rates, which will make it significantly cheaper and competitive.
If reports are to be believed, the Brezza 1.5L will receive a six-speed manual gearbox instead of a 5-speed unit. This change is likely to make the Brezza facelift more fuel efficient on highways. The 1.5L NA petrol engine produces 103hp and 137Nm of torque. It will continue to offer a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit.
Similar to the Victoris, the Maruti Brezza facelift will come with an underbody CNG tank. This will allow Maruti to free up more space in the boot, making it more usable for family buyers in India. Maruti engineers could also make some changes to suspension setup to offer improved ride comfort and handling.
The overall silhouette will remain the same, except for the minor tweaks to its front and rear. The SUV is expected to get a redesigned front bumper and a refreshed grille. It is likely to get newly styled 16-inch alloy wheels, sleeker LED headlamps with DRLs, and an integrated rear spoiler.
Inside the cabin, the SUV is likely to receive a redesigned centre console, new seat upholstery and a longer list of features. It will get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SUV is expected to get a premium sound system, a head-up display, automatic AC, and others. If reports are to be believed, the SUV could also get LEVEL 1 ADAS and front parking sensors.
