MG Windsor EV will receive a 50kWh battery pack 2025 Kia Carens facelift launching on May 8 Tata Motors will launch the Altroz facelift on May 21
A wide range of new cars and SUVs are set to launch in the Indian market in the next couple of months. A total of 3 mass-market cars will be launched in the month of May 2025. While Kia will introduce the Carens facelift on May 8, the Altroz facelift will arrive on May 21. MG will also introduce the Windsor EV with bigger battery pack. Let’s talk about these three models in detail -
The Korean automaker, Kia will introduce a new more premium and feature-loaded Carens facelift in the second week of May 2025. It will be sold alongside the existing model and likely to carry a new nameplate. The MPV receive significant design and interior changes; however, the engine options are likely to remain the same.
It will have newly designed front fascia with design inspiration from global Kia cars including EV9 and Carnival. Majority of the changes will be made inside the cabin. It will have a new dashboard layout that house a big 30-inch display incorporating a 12.3-inch touchscreen unit, a 12.3-inch instrument console and a 5-inch display for climate control. It will also come with a 360-degree surround view camera, a panoramic sunroof and LEVEL 2 ADAS. Engine options will include a 1.5L NA petrol, a 1.5L turbo diesel and a 1.5L turbo petrol. All will be offered with manual and automatic gearbox choices.
Tata’s premium hatchback, the Tata Altroz will receive a mid-life upgrade on May 21, 2025. The updated hatchback has already been caught testing multiple times on the Indian roads. It will receive some design changes in the form of revised front grille, an updated bumper and new headlamp setup. Other changes could include new set of alloys, revised tail-lights and rear bumper.
The cabin could see changes in-line with the new Nexon SUV. It could get a new upholstery for seats and dashboard. The hatch could get a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a new two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo, ventilated front seats, a single pane sunroof and others. Engine choices will include a 1.5L turbo diesel and a 1.2L NA petrol. A CNG version will also be on offer.
JSW MG Motor India will introduce the top-end Windsor EV with a bigger battery pack and ADAS tech in May 2025. The electric SUV is currently available with a 38kWh battery pack with a front-axle-mounted electric motor rated at 136bhp, and offers 200Nm of torque. This model is claimed to offer a range of around 330km in a single charge.
In order to target wider audience, MG will introduce the updated EV with a 50kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The updated model is likely to offer a certified range of over 450km in a single charge.
Another addition will be the inclusion of the ADAS suite, which is missing in the outgoing model. It will offer features like autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist and many more.
