The automotive sector of India is preparing for a monumental shift towards electric mobility in 2025, with a lineup of EVs ready to be launched in the country. The Bharat Mobility Global Expo will become a showdown platform for a bunch of upcoming cars in India, whether from domestic automakers or international ones. This showcase will be dominated by electric cars this time.
List of upcoming electric cars in India at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo:
Hyundai has fully revealed the electric version of Creta ahead of its official launch. The Creta EV is available in two battery packs - 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh, offering the range of 390 km and 473 km, respectively. The brand will announce the prices at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, starting from January 17.
Apart from Creta EV, Hyundai is also set to reveal its new Ioniq 9 electric SUV in India at the auto show 2025. It will be based on Hyundai's E-GMP platform and a close relative to the Kia EV 9 that launched a few weeks back in India.
This time, Maruti Suzuki will be entering the electric segment with its first-ever EV, the e Vitara, which will be having its India debut at the Auto Expo. This model is said to be based on the eVX concept showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo. Even though the range specs are unconfirmed, the car is expected to go 400 km on a single charge.
The Kia EV9 which entered the Indian automobile market and has been on sale since 3 Oct 2024 in the GT Line variant initially, is expected to be showcased at the Auto Expo 2025.
MG had earlier officially announced that it will be showcasing the Cyberster in January 2025, and it is expected to do so at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The car will be the first car of the automaker to be sold via its premium select dealerships.
Launched at a starting price of Rs 21.90 lakh, it is said that the full price list of the new Mahindra XEV 9e will be revealed at the Auto Expo 2025. The XEV 9e is one of the automaker's first BEVs that have been built on the all-new INGLO modular skateboard platform.
As Mahindra is all set to showcase a wide range of its EVs at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, the long-awaited Mahindra XUV700 EV that is XEV 7e is very likely to make its public debut at the Auto Expo in January 2025. It will be a 7-seater electric SUV that will directly rival the upcoming Tata Safari EV.
Along with the XEV 9e price announcement, Mahindra will be revealing the price list for the new BE 6 electric SUV at the show. The BE 6 price in India starts from Rs 18.90 lakh and comes with two battery pack options — 59 kWh and 79 kWh.
The launch of the Tata Harrier EV is eagerly awaited, this car promises rugged appeal and advanced electric technology in two battery packs, 60 kWh and 80 kWh battery packs. Tata aims to launch this model at the Auto Expo 2025, and it closely resembles the ICE version of the SUV.
Along with the upcoming Harrier EV, the most anticipated launch from Tata Motors is the Sierra EV. At the same financial meeting, Tata said that it will launch the Sierra in an electric avatar by the end of 2025. So, it is very likely that the Sierra EV will be there at the Motor Show.
The highly anticipated Toyota Urban Cruiser EV will share its foundation with the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara with a distinct design. The expected Toyota's entry into India's electric SUV market adds excitement to the 2025 launches that the Auto Show holds.
Skoda is all set to launch its first electric car in India, the Skoda Enyaq. The car is built on Volkswagen's MEB platform, tho there is still no official reveal on the exact specification of the India-spec Skoda Enyaq.
The BYD Seagull EV is expected to make its first-ever debut in India as a part of Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. It is likely to be launched on January 31, 2025, with an expected starting price of Rs 10 Lakhs. With affordable pricing, impressive range, and advanced features, it will make a strong contender in India's electric car market.
The electric G-Wagon, Mercedes G 580 will be making an appearance at the Motor Show 2025 with a few other Mercedes cars. This powerful SUV is said to be powered by four electric motors and claims to retain its electric prowess along with a futuristic experience.
At the upcoming 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, the Vietnamese EV maker, VinFast will be making its first-ever debut in India with an expected display of its entire global product lineup. One of which will be VF e34 which is globally equipped with a 110 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, delivering a maximum torque of 242 Nm.
With a lineup of these upcoming reveals and launches, this year promises to be a milestone with these EVs expected to debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo.
