Kia Motor India is reportedly planning to launch the updated Seltos in India by the first quarter of 2023. The facelifted SUV was already revealed in June 2022 at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea. Now, recent spy shots show the new model being tested in India. Here is all that we know about the upcoming SUV.
Visually, the Seltos Facelift gets a redesigned front grille and headlights with the LED DRLs now extending into the grille. The side profile stays similar except for a new alloy wheel design. Towards the rear, the SUV features refreshed taillights with an LED light bar spanning the width of the vehicle while the bootlid is a bit more sculpted than before.
Inside, the cabin of the Kia Seltos Facelift remains fairly similar but has received updates to its feature list. This includes a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a panoramic sunroof, highway driving assistance, remote smart parking assist, a surround view camera, and navigation based cruise control.
Kia will also introduce ADAS-tech like Blind Spot Collision Warning, Speed Limit Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Avoidance System and Lane Departure Warning in the new Seltos.
The update to the 2023 Kia Seltos will see the SUV receive a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that should be capable of delivering a maximum power output of 160 bhp with 253 Nm of peak torque. This replaces the current 1.4-litre turbo-petrol unit. Transmission options of the new motor are yet to be revealed.
Besides, the Kia Seltos Facelift will continue with the other powertrain options, a 1.5-litre N/A petrol making 115 bhp with 144 Nm of peak torque and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel pumping out 115 bhp with 250 Nm torque. Both powertrains will be paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed iMT. As for the automatic, expect a CVT gearbox to be made available with the petrol variant while the diesel trim would offer a 6-speed torque convertor.
Reports suggest that the New Seltos Facelift will be launching around the first quarter of 2023. It will compete against the likes of the Maruti Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Škoda Kushaq, and the Volkswagen Taigun in its segment.
