Maruti Suzuki, India's largest car manufacturer, has introduced more safety features in its entry-level hatchback, the Alto K10 and the S-Presso. Both the models are now equipped with the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as standard across the range.
With the addition of the ESP in the entry-level hatchbacks, now all Maruti Suzuki cars come with this safety feature as standard. Other safety features in the Alto K10 and S-Presso include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, immobiliser, reverse parking sensors, and a collapsible steering column.
Commenting on the occasion, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “The addition of Electronic Stability Program as a standard feature on Maruti Suzuki product portfolio aligns with our endeavour to democratize advanced features and it significantly increases the value proposition of our vehicles. This is a step towards ensuring that our customers enjoy enhanced safety through improved driving confidence regardless of the model they choose. At Maruti Suzuki, we believe that advanced technology should be accessible to all, and this reinforces our commitment to delivering high-quality vehicles that cater to the diverse needs of Indian consumers.'
Both entry-level models are equipped with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 66bhp and 89Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and an AMT. The entry-level models also get a CNG fuel option. In CNG mode, the powertrain offers 56bhp and 82Nm of torque. It is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
