Maruti Suzuki Brezza has completed 10 years in the Indian market. Since its introduction in 2016, the Brezza has been the best-selling model in the hotly contested compact SUV segment. As India's No.1 Compact SUV, the Brezza has maintained its position among India's top 10 bestselling passenger vehicles for a decade. In order to keep the sales momentum in its favour, Maruti Suzuki is all set to give a mid-life update to its compact SUV.
The spy shots reveal that the Brezza facelift will receive cosmetic design and interior changes along with significant upgrades to its mechanics. If reports are to be believed, the updated model is likely to get a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that powers the Fronx. This engine will be paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The SUV will come with a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, which we have already seen on the Maruti Suzuki Victoris. The cabin is also expected to receive new seat upholstery and features. In terms of styling, the Brezza facelift is likely to receive revised bumper that houses new fog lamp housings, new set of alloy wheels and connected LED tail-lamp.
Speaking on this milestone, Mr. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “The Brezza story is one that has empowered the SUV era in India. Conceptualised, designed and developed with new-age customer aspirations, the Brezza’s authentic SUV DNA and feature-loaded cabin have constantly redefined customer expectations with each new model launch. As we reflect on its journey through the decade on its 10th anniversary, it’s worth noting that the Brezza has not just consistently retained its position as India’s most loved SUV; it has also steadily expanded the market share for the entire compact SUV segment to 31% contribution to today.”
The outgoing model is powered by a 1.5L petrol engine with smart hybrid tech, paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit. In terms of features, the compact SUV gets paddle shifters, 360-degree surround view camera, electric sunroof, HUD, 6 airbags, ESP with hill hold assist and others.
