Maruti Suzuki will launch two new SUVs in the country before the end of this year. The long-awaited Suzuki e Vitara electric SUV will go on sale by September 2025. Its second SUV will be an all-new model, which is rumoured to be launched by the end of this year. Codenamed Y17, the new Maruti Suzuki SUV is likely to be positioned between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara in the lineup.

It is reportedly to be called the Maruti Victoris (Escudo), as the name has already ben trademarked in India. To be positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara, the Escudo will be sold exclusively through Maruti’s mass ARENA dealership network.
The new Victoris (Escudo) is expected to be affordable than the Grand Vitara. MSIL will aim to create a new sub-category with this SUV. It will mainly target buyers looking to buy a mid-sized SUV, but not inclined towards Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos or even Maruti Grand Vitara.

The new Maruti Suzuki Victoris (Escudo) SUV will be based on Suzuki’s Global C platform that also underpins the Grand Vitara and Brezza. It was initially planned as a 7-seater SUV; however, Maruti tweaked its plans after understanding the rising demand for 5-seater SUVs in market. The new SUV will be longer than the Grand Vitara. It could be based on a slightly longer wheelbase, which translates to bigger boot and improved space in second-row.
The previous spy images suggest that the new SUV will have an all-new dashboard layout and new interior scheme. It will have a larger and vertically placed touchscreen infotainment unit, which is likely to support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
In terms of features, the SUV could get a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a digital driver’s display. For safety and security, the SUV is likely to get six airbags, ESC, a 360-degree camera and ADAS tech.
