MG planning on introducing a larger pack of 50 kWh for the car in April 2025. The current version is offered with a 38kWh LFP battery. The expected larger battery pack will deliver up to 460 km range.
MG launched the Windsor EV in September of 2024, and from its first day of booking the car received a great response. The EV since then became one of the most popular cars among the customers. With its massive growth in the EV market, the automaker is planning on introducing a larger pack of 50 kWh for the car in April 2025. The current version is great with features and tech but lacks the range.
The larger battery pack for the Windsor EV is likely to be a 50kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The automaker has been using the same battery for several of its global EVs, including the ZS EV. This expected larger battery pack will be offered in the top-spec exclusively and deliver up to 460 km range. The same battery allows the MG ZS EV to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 8.6 seconds and offers a top speed of 175kmph.
In the Indonesian market, the MG Windsor EV is already available with the 50kWh battery pack under the name of Wuling Cloud. The EV also features ADAS in Indonesia which the India-spec Windsor miss out on.
Currently, in the Indian market, this EV is offered with a 38kWh LFP battery and a front axle-mounted motor. It delivers up to 136bhp and 200Nm of torque with a range of 331km on a single charge.
The electric MPV features four driving models – Eco, Eco+, Normal, and Sport.
The current model of the electric MPV with a smaller battery pack ranges from Rs 13.50 lakh – Rs 15.50 lakh (all, ex-showroom). So, it is likely that the larger battery version would cost a premium that could lead to an increase of between Rs 1 lakh – Rs 1.50 lakh on the present price.
