New Amaze design inspired by current City Will use same platform as upcoming New Honda SUV To be offered as a petrol-only model
Japanese automaker Honda is reportedly developing and gearing up for an All-New Next-Gen Amaze that is set for a global debut in 2024. The current Honda Amaze was launched in 2018, and last received a mild update in 2021. The new model will get an all-new design and an updated interior with the latest tech and features. Here is all we know about the upcoming model.

The Next-Gen Honda Amaze will be underpinned by an updated version of the current model’s platform. This will also be used for the upcoming New SUV that the brand is developing for India. However, unlike the SUV which will be a mid-size offering, the New Amaze will continue to be under 4 metres in length.
The compact sedan will have an exterior inspired by the current generation Honda City and the New Accord, with Honda going for a unified design language for its sedans. Expect familiar elements like a large chrome bar on the grille, wraparound headlights, sculpted bonnet and LED taillights to feature on the new Amaze.
The next-gen model will also be getting an all-new interior with a redesigned dashboard layout and upholstery. The car will come loaded with features like a free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, climate control, cruise control, ambient lighting, and more.

Honda is likely going to offer the new Amaze with the existing petrol powertrain option. The motor is a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder (naturally aspirated) unit making 90 bhp with 110 Nm of peak torque. Transmission choices would include a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox.
The powertrain is also offered with a factory-fitted CNG kit in the current Amaze, but it remains to be seen if it will be offered in the next-gen model.
2024 Honda Amaze will not be offered with a diesel motor as the 1.5-litre unit has been discontinued on the current model due to the new RDE norms coming into effect from April 2023. Honda has also stated that it will stop production of diesel engines altogether in the country.

The New Honda Amaze will most probably debut around late 2024. The compact sedan will compete with the likes of Tata Tigor, Maruti Dzire, and the recently updated Hyundai Aura Facelift in its segment.
As for the expected pricing? Expect Honda to give the Next-Gen Amaze a price hike compared to the current model’s Rs 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 9.48 lakh (ex-showroom) price bracket.
