The next two years look busy for Tata Motors as the company prepares to roll out a fresh wave of SUVs. From petrol to electric models, Tata is working on an updated lineup that includes new-generation versions of popular cars and a few brand-new names. The upcoming range will strengthen Tata’s stronghold in the compact SUV segment with the likes of the Nexon “Garud,” Scarlet, and Punch facelift leading the charge.
Tata’s smallest SUV, the Punch, is also ready for a mid-life update. Heavily camouflaged test mules have already been spotted on roads, suggesting that major styling changes are on the way.
The updated design will reportedly take cues from the Punch EV, which introduced a more modern front fascia and revised LED setup. The petrol facelift of the Punch is expected to debut by the end of 2025, while the EV facelift could arrive in 2026.
Inside, buyers can expect better materials, a new infotainment system, and refreshed interiors to keep the Punch competitive in the micro SUV space.
The best-selling Tata Nexon is set to get a next-generation upgrade, and internally it’s being called “Garud.” Unlike the current model, the upcoming Nexon will be based on a revised X1 platform, offering better refinement, safety, and performance.
Design changes will be major this time - expect a sharper, more futuristic look, inspired by Tata’s latest design language. Inside, the new Nexon will feature a premium cabin, improved ergonomics, and modern tech such as a digital instrument cluster, a bigger infotainment system, and Level 2 ADAS for enhanced safety.
The new Nexon “Garud” is expected to hit the market sometime in 2027, taking the compact SUV competition to the next level.
One of the most anticipated upcoming models is the Tata Scarlet, a brand-new compact SUV that will slot between the Punch and Nexon. It will reportedly carry a boxy design with an upright stance, drawing inspiration from the Sierra.
The Scarlet is expected to target high-volume players in the compact SUV market, offering modern features, strong practicality, and competitive pricing. It’s likely to become a key model in Tata’s growing SUV family.
The company’s future roadmap reportedly includes around 30 models, out of which seven will be all-new nameplates. This includes some highly awaited models like the Sierra comeback, the Avinya EV lineup, and an all-new compact SUV codenamed “Scarlet.”
