After a successful outing in 2020, Renault India will be present at the 2023 Delhi Auto Expo showcasing a range of new cars. The company is expected to showcase the Arkana Coupe SUV along with some EV models at the biennial event. Over the last 12 months, the Arkana has been undergoing extensive testing on Indian roads and spied multiple times. Based on the spy images here is everything we know about the Renault Arkana.
In terms of the overall design, the Arkana will be identical to the international spec model. The front end of the four-wheeler is characterised by the familiar Renault grille that is flanked by new design LED headlamp units. Lower down there is a large air dam along with a skid plate to give the SUV its rugged look. From the side, one can clearly see the coupe silhouette of the vehicle along with a new design 17-inch alloy wheels that fill the arches of the vehicle well. Towards the rear, the four-wheeler features a steeply raked wind screen and LED taillamps.
Compared to the current crop of Renault cars, the Arkana will feature a modern interior showcasing a large 9.3-inch portrait display for multimedia along with an all-digital instrument cluster. Other equipment on offer is set to include
Powertrain options on the Renault Arkana coupe SUV is said to include a choice of petrol and E-TECH hybrid engine options. While the standard model uses the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, the hybrid variants are expected to get the 1.6-litre engine mated to a 1.2 kWh battery pack. The total power output of the system is rated at 140 bhp and 250 Nm.
While there is no official date set for the Arkana’s launch, we expect the company to launch the new car in the country by the 2023 festive season. Expected to be offered as a CBU, the Arkana will not have any direct rivals in the Indian market and is expected to be priced around Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
Alongside the Arkana, we can also expect Renault India to showcase the Next-Generation Duster and the Kwid EV Concept at the upcoming Auto Expo.
