The Korean automaker, Hyundai has lost its second position to Mahindra in terms of sales in the Indian auto industry. In a bid to regain its lost market share, the company is developing multiple new models which will be launched in the next 2-3 years.
Hyundai will launch the next-gen Venue compact SUV in November 2025. It will have an all-new design and interior along with a longer list of features. The SUV was caught testing alongside the XUV 3XO, and brand’s main focus will be on making it more spacious in the second-row. The next-gen Hyundai Venue will continue to have a boxy design with wider and taller stance, offering more space in the second-row. It is likely to share the features with the Creta and Kia Syros. The new Venue won’t receive any mechanical changes, but its diesel version could get an automatic option.

Engine - 1.2L NA Petrol, 1.0L turbo Petrol & 1.5L Diesel
Hyundai is preparing an all-new sub-4 meter crossover, which will be positioned between the Exter and Venue in the line-up. It is likely to be based on the Bayon crossover on sale in European markets. The new SUV will directly rival the Maruti Suzuki Fronx and Nissan Magnite. It is expected to be launched sometime in 2026.

Hyundai has announced to launch an all-new India-specific electric vehicle. The new electric model is expected to be a small electric SUV, which could be based on the Inster EV on sale in international markets. The small SUV is expected to be launched in 2027. It will directly rival the Tata Punch EV.

India’s best-selling SUV, the Hyundai Creta will enter the new generation in 2027. The next-gen Creta will come with all-new design and high-end comfort, convenience and tech features. Moreover, the platform will be heavily tweaked for better safety. The big update will come in the form of hybrid powertrain. Before next-gen Kia Seltos, the Creta will receive the in-house developed hybrid powertrain which is likely to be based on the 1.5L NA petrol engine.

Internally codenamed Ni1i, the new 7-seater Hyundai SUV will be positioned above the Alcazar in Hyundai India’s line-up and will rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari. It is likely to be based on the Tucson LWB platform. The new Hyundai SUV is expected to get a 1.6L petrol-hybrid powertrain that powers the Tucson in select international markets.

Hyundai Palisade will come to India as the brand’s flagship model. It will be offered with a strong hybrid powertrain and will take on the country’s most popular premium SUV, the Toyota Fortuner. The SUV gets a 2.5L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 334bhp and 460NM of torque. A 6-speed automatic gearbox driving the power to front-wheels will come as standard.

Hyundai has started testing the next-gen i20 hatchback in Europe. Scheduled to make global debut in 2026, the next-gen Hyundai i20 could come to our market in 2027. The premium hatchback will receive the brand’s new design language with tough angular styling. It is expected to be offered with petrol and strong hybrid powertrains.

The Korean brand will launch the Ioniq 9 electric SUV as its flagship EV in India. This electric SUV made its India debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. It will directly rival the Kia EV9. The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is packed with a 110.3kWh battery pack and offers a claimed range of around 620km on a single charge.
