Jimny 5-door has received over 18,000 bookings 66 percent of total production allocated for India Expected price around Rs 12 lakh
The wait for the most awaited SUV of the year, Jimny 5-door could soon be over as Maruti Suzuki is believed to commence the production of the vehicle from next month. Showcased at the recently concluded 2023 Delhi Auto Expo, the off-roader is currently available for booking at a token amount of Rs 25,000. Ahead of its launch, let us take a look at what the brand is planning for this upcoming SUV.
As per a certain media report, Maruti Suzuki will start production of the Jimny 5-door from April 2023. The automaker is aiming to manufacture around 1 lakh units every year, out of which 66 percent will be allotted for domestic sales. The rest will be used for exports. The company is also planning to allocate 7,000 units for the Indian market every month. Interest for the Jimny 5-door is strong, with over 18,000 bookings already received since the commencement of bookings in January this year.

Maruti has already revealed the feature list for the Jimny 5-door. The SUV will get a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster, climate control, cruise control, an audio setup from Arkamys, and more. In terms of safety, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, and Hill-Hold Assist will come as standard equipment available with the Jimny.

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-Door is slated to go on sale around May 2023, with prices expected to be around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom)
Upon launch, it will rival the 5-door versions of Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha, both of which are launching this year
