Kia India today launched the sporty iteration of its compact SUV, the Sonet X-Line in the country. Priced at Rs. 13.39 lakh (ex-showroom) the special edition model gets sporty cosmetic additions inside-out.
The most significant change on the X-Line is the addition of an exclusive matte graphite paint scheme which lends a refreshed appeal to the SUV. Other new bits on the SUV include gloss black finish to the front grill, skid plates, and ORVM, new crystal cut alloy wheels and the addition of the X-line logo on the tailgate. On the inside, the car get a new Splendid Sage dual-tone upholstry with contrast orange stitching and an embroidered X-Line logo.
Based on the GTX+ trim, the Sonet X-Line comes loaded with safety features like six airbags, ABS, ESC, Brake Assist, front and rear parking sensors, projector fog lamps and paddle shifters among others.

Despite being the sportier version of the SUV, the X-Line continues to come powered by two engine options; a 1.0-litre tGDi petrol engine producing 120 bhp and 172 Nm of torque paired to a 7-speed DCT gearbox and a 1.5 litre CRDi diesel engine paired to a 6-speed torque converter AT churning out 113 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque.
In India, the Sonet X-Line will primarily rival the likes of the upcoming Hyundai Venue N-Line along with other compact SUVs in the segment, namely Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
