Auto Expo is all-set to make a comeback after a pause of three years. The mega event is slated to take place in the India Expo Mart (Greater Noida) from 13th to 18th January 2023. Alongside the mega event, there will also be an automotive components manufacturers expo at Pragati Maidan from 12th to 15th January 2023.
While the official list of exhibitors is not revealed yet, we can confirm Maruti Suzuki will be present at the event and will be launching two new cars along with showcasing some other concepts. The confirmed list of products includes the Jimny 5-door and Baleno Cross. Both upcoming car models have been spotted testing multiple times on Indian roads.
The premium hatchback received a big update earlier this year and the new model Baleno Cross will be a rugged looking alternative to the premium hatchback. The new Baleno Cross is likely to have a coupe-like styling. However, its design could be strongly inspired by the new midsize SUV, Grand Vitara. In addition, the new Baleno Cross will be positioned below the Grand Vitara and alongside the latest generation Brezza.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross, code-named YTB is likely to reach showrooms in the months following its appearance at Auto Expo 2023. The crossover is expected to sit on the Heartect platform as the regular Baleno, but will feature plastic cladding all-around.. Moreover, the new Baleno is expected to be powered by a new 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.
The new car will likely have premium features including a nine-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a heads-up display, a 360-degree camera system, an automatic climate control system, semi-digital instrument console, multiple airbags, flat-bottom steering wheel with audio controls and more.

As confirmed by Maruti, the Jimny 5-door will also make its appearance at Auto Expo 2023. It will be more spacious than the 3-door Jimny and will be powered by the familiar 1.5-litre K15C engine with Suzuki All-Grip AWD technology. The new Jimny 5-door is expected to adopt the same signature styling as the overseas model.
However, it will have an extended wheelbase to accommodate the extra doors. Moreover, the new Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door will take on the likes of the upcoming 5-door Mahindra Thar and 5-door Force Gurkha once launched.
