MG Motor India is gearing up to launch an updated version of the Windsor EV with a larger battery pack and additional features. According to sources, the launch could happen as early as next month. The key highlight of the update will be the introduction of a 50.6 kWh battery pack, similar to what is offered in Indonesia under the Wuling Cloud EV badge.
The upgraded battery is expected to deliver a claimed range of 460km on the CLTC cycle, a significant bump from the current 38 kWh battery's 332km ARAI-rated range. Despite the new battery, power and torque outputs (134 bhp and 200Nm) will remain unchanged, along with the front-wheel-drive setup.

In previous efficiency tests, the MG Windsor returned an impressive 8.1km/kWh, offering a real-world range of 308 km, just shy of its claimed range. With the larger 50.6 kWh battery, the real-world range could approach 400km. For comparison, the Tata Nexon EV with a 45 kWh battery delivers around 350km of real-world range but at a lower efficiency of 7.79km/kWh.
In addition to the battery upgrade, MG is likely to introduce an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite, enhancing the Windsor’s safety and tech package. Other feature additions could also be on the cards, though exact details are yet to be confirmed.
With the larger battery and added features, expect the MG Windsor's price to increase moderately. Currently, the EV is priced between Rs 14 lakh and Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
