Renault Duster 1.0L Turbo Mileage Revealed – Creta & Seltos Left Behind?

Renault Duster 1.0L turbo delivers claimed 19.41kmpl mileage. The Duster hybrid and 7-seater SUVs slated to launch by 2027.

The Renault Duster 1.0L turbo-petrol mileage figures are now officially out. The carmaker has revealed that the SUV’s Turbo TCe 100 version delivers a claimed ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 19.41kmpl. It’s the most frugal powertrain available in the Duster lineup, as the 1.3L turbo-petrol version offers a claimed mileage of 17.75kmpl. The 1.0L turbo petrol engine, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, produces a maximum power of 100bhp and 160Nm of torque.

In the midsize SUV segment, the Renault Duster majorly takes on the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara. The Creta 10.L turbo petrol manual model returns an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 19.4kmpl, while the Kia Seltos 1.5L turbo petrol DCT version offers 18.4kmpl. The Maruti Grand Vitara with 1.5L mild-hybrid petrol powertrain promises a fuel efficiency of 21.11kmpl with the manual gearbox and 20.58kmpl with the automatic transmission.

Based on the claimed figures, the Duster’s 1.0L turbo-petrol engine is marginally more fuel-efficient than the turbo-petrol versions of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. However, the Maruti Grand Vitara takes a lead over it with its fuel-efficient mild-hybrid powertrain.

2 New Renault SUVs By 2027

Renault India is all set to launch the Duster hybrid in the coming months. The carmaker has already revealed that the SUV’s hybrid version will feature a 1.0L petrol engine producing power worth 109bhp, which will be paired with a 49bhp electric motor, a 1.4kWh battery pack and a 20bhp hybrid starter generator. Its combined output will be 160bhp and 172Nm.

Following the launch of the Renault Duster hybrid, Renault will introduce the 7-seater Duster to challenge the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar. The model was previewed globally as the Renault Boreal last year. However, the India-bound version might receive minimal market-specific design changes and could be introduced under a different nameplate. The 7-seater Renault Duster will share several design elements, features, components and powertrain options with its 5-seater sibling.
