Tata Motors Set to Launch New EVs in FY27

Sierra EV expected mid-2026 with 500+ km range. Safari EV will be Tata’s first three-row electric SUV. Avinya brand brings premium electric SUVs to India.

Tata Motors is planning a busy year ahead with several electric vehicle launches in FY27. The company is expected to bring the Sierra EV, the Safari EV, and a new premium electric sub-brand called Avinya. These launches will strengthen Tata’s position in both electric and regular SUVs.

Sierra EV – Coming First

The Sierra EV is likely to launch between July and September 2026. Tata has already shown a production-ready version at auto shows, and the electric model follows the ICE Sierra. The Sierra EV will sit between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV. It will have a square shape, clean surfaces, connected lighting, and a more upright stance compared to Tata’s current SUVs.

Inside, it will likely get a layered dashboard, big touchscreen, panoramic glass roof, connected tech, and ADAS safety features. It will also have a big battery pack, giving a range of over 500 km on a single charge.

Updates to Existing Models

Tata is also planning updates for four existing models this year. Two ICE models and two EVs will get cosmetic updates, refreshed interiors, extra features, and possibly better batteries or drivetrains. The soon-to-launch Tiago EV and ICE are part of these updates.

Safari EV – Tata’s First Three-Row Electric SUV

The Safari EV is expected around the festive season or in the last quarter of FY27. This will be Tata’s first fully electric three-row SUV, designed for families.

It may share the platform with the Harrier EV but will have a longer wheelbase. Higher trims could get dual-motor all-wheel drive, big battery packs, vehicle-to-load capability, Level 2 ADAS, and connected features. The Safari EV will compete with the Mahindra XEV 9S in India.

Avinya – Tata’s New Premium EV Brand

The most exciting launch could be the Avinya brand, expected in the second half of FY27. Avinya will not be a single model but a premium electric sub-brand. Early concepts show simple, modern designs, lounge-style interiors, and a next-gen electrical system inspired by Jaguar Land Rover’s EMA platform.
