Maruti Suzuki is all set to unveil its first-ever Flex Fuel Wagon R on June 4, 2026. This hatchback is not just another Wagon R - it’s India’s first mass-market car built to run on high ethanol blends. It promises to reduce emissions while keeping the same reliable performance that Wagon R owners love.
Here’s a look at eight interesting things you should know about the upcoming Wagon R Flex Fuel.
1. India’s First Flex Fuel Wagon R
While Maruti Suzuki has shown Flex Fuel prototypes before, this is the first production-ready version. It’s a big step for alternative fuel vehicles in India.

2. Runs on Petrol and High Ethanol Blends
The car can run on anything from regular petrol to E85 or even pure ethanol (E100). This gives drivers flexibility and supports cleaner fuel use.

When running on high ethanol blends like E85, the Wagon R Flex Fuel can cut tailpipe emissions by up to 79% compared to a standard petrol car. That’s a big win for the environment.
