The compact SUV battle in India is heating up, and Volkswagen is not staying behind. The brand is preparing the Taigun facelift 2025, which will come with bold new design, smarter features inside, and a major safety upgrade with Level-2 ADAS. Spotted testing on Indian roads, the upcoming Taigun SUV is set to take on heavyweights like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara. Let’s get into more details.
While Volkswagen has not officially confirmed the Taigun facelift launch date, test mules have already been spotted on Indian roads, hinting that the SUV could make its debut in 2025 before going on sale in 2026.
The Taigun facelift 2025 features will include design updates inspired by Volkswagen’s global lineup. Expect a revised front grille, sharper LED headlamps with sequential indicators, new bumpers, and a fresh alloy wheel design. New colour options may also join the list to keep the SUV looking stylish.
Inside, you can look forward to better upholstery, soft-touch materials, dual-zone climate control, and possibly a 360-degree camera. While a panoramic sunroof might still be missing, the focus will clearly be on improving comfort and practicality.
The standout feature in the upcoming model will be Level-2 ADAS. This advanced safety suite will finally make its way to the Taigun. The ADAS suite will have features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane-keep Assist, Emergency Braking, and Rear Cross-traffic Alert. With these, the SUV will match segment leaders in safety and eventually will become a stronger rival to the Creta and Seltos.
Volkswagen will likely continue with the current petrol engines. The 1.0-litre TSI (115 hp) and the 1.5-litre TSI (150 hp) will remain, paired with manual, automatic, and DSG gearbox options. Speculation also suggests that an 8-speed automatic could replace the existing 6-speed unit.
With all these updates, the Volkswagen Taigun facelift 2025 price is expected to go higher than the current Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 19.83 lakh (ex-showroom) range. The price bump will reflect the added technology and premium features, especially the ADAS suite.
